Oman International Bank

There are a few banks to choose from in Oman ,I made the mistake of registering with Oman International Bank – OIB bank in Oman are perhaps the worst choice, for services, they charge you for everything ! The machines for withdrawing cash at Oman International Bank are hard to use, (not that I am totally thick , don’t get me wrong I know how to operate an ATM machine, however Oman International Bank ATMs always seem to be down or out of service. That could be something to do with the fact that they all seem about 50 years old! My opinion, but I’m sure there are others that have had problems with Oman International Bank, the staff are excellent, but the system that the bank operate by needs updating. Don worry though there are more banks in Oman ! ……..
More Information On Oman International Bank —-

The Oman International Bank S.A.O.G. was opened on January 1, 1984.  This all-inclusive banking institution is the first of its kind, being the first bank in the Sultanate of Oman owned and operated by Omanis. The Oman International Bank has two branches in India (Conchi, Mumbai) as well as in Pakistan (Lahore, Karachi). The Oman International Bank pride themselves as having an outstanding track record in providing clients with consistency, deep-rooted in tradition, loyalty, integrity, and reliability.

Having an online banking site helps this organization to broaden their international client base and to market their flawless reputation.  The Oman International Bank offers an array of services, including individual banking, corporate banking, child services as well as a treasury.

The institution was recently awarded the GCC HR Excellence Award for Best Nationalization Friendly Initiative on June 15th of 2009.  This award solidifies The Oman International Bank’s mission statement as well as their daily efforts towards creating strong client relationships, creative banking solutions and innovative services to make this operation a profitable one for all involved parties.
Although some may say they are surprised to hear about the award! Their mission is to provide excellent customer service, however the same can’t be said for their ATM machines, many of them are ramshackle out of date, and really in need of updating! Also the cards that they have on offer are not particularly high quality when you compare the quality of cards issued by Oman Arab bank, HSBC and the UK renowned NatWest bank.

The Assistant General Manager and Head of Compliance at The Oman International Bank, Hany Abou-El-Fotouh is very hands on, encouraging public and private corporate clients to apply audit committee self-assessment, insisting that it assists in the identification/implementation of better procedures, allowing shareholders to benefit from the expertise of third party involvement, contributing to the highest standards of international best practice.

Hany Abou-El-Fotouh is a very active spokesperson concerning international concern with money laundering and terrorist financing controls.  He led the December 2006 conference in New York City hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank with a presentation that provided remarkable insights to the deterrence of criminal exploitation of such institutions to commit illicit activities.

The Oman International Bank also received ISO 9001 certification in Human Resource Development, Administration and Training in 2000 backing their declaration in providing optimal customer service. As the international economic climate has caused many banks around the world to close, the Oman International Bank strives to be an institution that remains due to customer trust and satisfaction. Could this be down to the fact that they never updated their ATM machines ?? !!
